Hi, 2x i'd factory reset my sony z5 when i insert new simcard how come it lose..can you please fix this kind of annoying problem thanks

What happens when you insert the SIM-card? What do you mean is lost when you insert it?

I'll just borrow this topic. My Z5 Premium just lost its sim card during reboot. It has done this three times previously, actually I had the device changed once already and this new device seems to have the same problem.

Phone finds the sim card again after hard reset but obviously this isn't a very good fix as my blood pressure is already wee bit high as it is...

Sorry to hear about your phone. If you experienced the same thing with your SIM-card in two devices I would suggest that you try inserting another SIM-card. If possible also try with another SIM-card holder. A defect card or card-holder may cause the phone to not being able to connect to the SIM-card.

Try contacting your Local support to see if they can send you a new SIM-card holder. In order to get a new SIM-card you will have to contact your network carrier.

I actually have tried with two different sims as Inwas in the middle of an operator change while this happened so it's not likely a sim card issue. It's also weird that bringing the sim back to action requires no physical manipulation of things, only that hard reset. I think the phone has been on a leash (charging:D) while this has occurred, could it have something to do with overheating?

@JohannesKostaja, I see. Have you tried to manually select another network?

To select another network manually

From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
Find and tap Settings > More… > Mobile networks > Service providers or Network operators (depending on Android version).
Tap Search mode > Manual.
Select a network.

Does the same thing happen if you insert your SIM-card in another phone? If not I would suggest that you contact your Local support in order to have your device sent to and examined by an authorized service center. Should the same thing not happen with another device but if it still happens to yours I recommend that you try the software repair using Xperia Companion.
