Screen crackling and unresponsive - not water damaged

The screen on my z3 has become unresponsive to touch (buttons still work). The screen shows static occasionally but other than that appears to function normally. It has no heavy damage to it and it's water damage sticker is still yellow. I'm trying to book it in for repair but cannot as I can't unlock it to get the identification number. Can anyone help? Also if I do manage to book it in will it be free as it isn't damaged mechanically or by water so is surely just faulty?

Which water damage sticker? I believe the yellow square in the port is actually a reset button.
