Second issue with Z5C: Flash light may be used in another app, close and try again.

Hello!

I got my first Sony Xperia Z5 last year and was really happy with it until i did the MM 6.0 Update and camera stopped working and it told me the the Flash light may be used in another app and i had to close it. Never worked even after a factory reset and a Sony PCC.

Long story short, i changed my Phone operator and got a new Phone for free, so i went for another Xperia Z5 Compact with the factory 5.5.1 OS. Have had the phone for aprox three weeks now when the same massage shows up again. Flash light may be used in another app, close and try again. Just restarted the phone and it disappeared.

What kind of bug is this??? I won't upgrade to MM 6.0 until they have made it work proberly.

I,m still on the 1.0.0 Camera software and like that on better then the 2.0.0 version.

Any thoughts about this camera bug, i'm afraid that the camera will stop working on this new Z5 Compact to.

Sorry, it should be factory 5.1.1, not 5.5.1.

Have you tried in Safe Mode?

If the problem don't show up in Safe Mode, it is one of your self-installed apps.

The fact it happens on 5.1.1 and 6.0 tells me it's an app you've installed.

Hi!

Hmm, what is safe mode? The phone is 100% from factory and i havn't installed any special apps except the normal Facebook,Instagram and so. And it still shows up and like poster number 4 wrote i'm still on the 5.1.1.

Safe Node diasbles all third part apps (apps installed by yourself).

You enter Safe Mode this way:

1. Press and hold the power key.
2. Once you get the pop up menu.
3. Press and hold "Power off".
4. Choose Boot on safe mode.

No, never use the Instagram Camera. On my old Z5C the camera is totally dead, it doesn't work either on the front,back,Instagram,messenger etc etc. Just black screen and it says that Camera has been stopped.

On my new Z5C i've only got to the bug that said that the "flashlight was used by another app" and a restart will fix it. BUT, that is how it all started on my old Z5C so that's whats makes me worried that it will turn out like my old Z5C in a few weeks. Seems like a bug in the actual phone or? Since i'm still on the factory 5.1.1.

Thanks, i tried the safe mode just a few minutes ago, same thing, camera not working.

No, this problem is not related to my operator. I thank it's a factory bugg since I've had this on two separate Z5C now. And the first one had a different operator then now.

Try factory reset and see if it works then, then install your apps one by one and find the one taking over the camera.

Thanks, but a factory reset did nothing to the phone. And since this is my second Z5C with the exact same problem i think it's a bug in the phone? I can't be the only one with this problem one would think.
