Any Overheating Issues Reported while Recording 4K Video?

Hello all,

I have purchased a Sony Xperia Z3. My main point of interest is its ability to record 4K ultra HD videos.

Since I run a YouTube channel where I regularly upload aviation based content, I was wondering if it is possible to use the Handset to continuously record 4K video without letting the processor overheat?

Hello there!

Having had the phone for almost a year now, my usual experience is:

- in summer temperatures, the phone manages anywhere between 2 to 4 minutes of 4k video before the camera shuts down

- in spring/autumn tempteratures, it's anywhere between 2 to 7 minutes of 4K video, depending on how extensively you have been using the phone prior to shooting the video

- in winter temperatures, it manages around 3 to 15 minutes of 4K video, again depending on the prior usage

- the most I have managed so far was 20 minutes of underwater 4K video, with water temperature at around 25 degrees Celsius

So, using the phone for "continuous 4K video" is impossible under any circumstances I have tried.

Thank you so much for the reply! I will manage around five minutes of recording since I plan to use the camera in an air conditioned environment.
