well, I will surely give it a try if I could.. which is unlikely.. the only thing that makes me want to have a X performance is the new CPU and camera setup.. the rest are just details...

The camera seems to be the best feature on this phone.

First try of a review after 24 hours

First try of a review after 24 hours. I am coming from a Z3 BTW.

Ever since the first days with my Z3 (RIP) I was missing something. Beside my admiration of Sony I had to admit that the screen
was not the best one, the camera had it's flaws and the sound was a lean character. I skipped the Z3+ and Z5 ones.

Now the X series.

I am happy now. 95 % happy. The design is awesome. The materials gentle to the skin. The screen (finally) with accurate color calibration, no more bluish tint but stunning contrast and clarity. The operating system works lightning fast, everything animates and scrolls utterly butterly smooth.

Yes, it's right, the experience is in the foreground. Forget the Snapdragon 650, don't need a faster processor. It's like when driving a Ferrari and one asks: "How many horse powers?" And you answer: "Enough..."

On the bright side of life you get with the Xperia X:
- Stunning "Real World Performance"
- Better network reception and call quality than with any other Z series before
- Best sounding Sony Smartphone yet
- Stunning camera quality in daylight conditions
- Wonderful design, build quality and materials

For the 5% left I wish:
- More volume for the music !!!!!!
- Improve low light image quality and introduce Optical Image Stabilization !!!
- Rework your camera processing software, please less image sharpening and processing
- Introduce Camera RAW !
- Bring back the Small Apps (forget what Google says)
- Bring back the MCS mode (mount SD card) - my old Z3 has Android 6.0.1 as well and there is still a MCS mode, so ...

Sony, it was the right decision to focus on user experience but please remind that most people (I don't need the Performance) out there want top specs in a top smartphone. At that price (more than 500 EUR) you could just skip the X and introduce the Performance variant only.

yes, on the one hand you're right. The price is high. Perhaps too high. As I've said, there is perhaps no need for an X Performance AND an X side by side. In real world performance the X is better than the Z5 series. Try it, it's astonishing!
