Hi Ashutosh,

I recently had headphone jack problem. Read one tip on the forum and that solved my issue. Try this.

Switch off the phone. Take a toothpick and put in the headphone jack hole. Gently. Poke a little and see if there is anything stuck there. In my case there was a little cotton bobble at the bottom. Once that was out, headphone jack was working again.

Use something non-metalic to be on safe side.

Some others also tried this and it worked.

What happens is - we put the phone in our pockets and little thread/other things go inside. Can happen with any mobile.

Try and tell if that was your phone's problem.

Hi all,

After purchasing this phone I was very happy, as I'm a huge Sony products fan. I made my friends and relatives buy so many Sony products. Xperia Z1 is my first smartphone and I was very happy with it. Until 3 months after I purchased this phone, the headphone jack wasn't working. It stopped detecting headphones. I went to the services center and they replaced the hardware and returned the device. This changed device’s IEMI number. I thought this might be the only faulty piece I got and did not blame Sony as I was still a fan.

Few months later my battery started giving me issues. Phone was getting hot and laggy. I submitted device to service center and I received the worst service in my whole life. I work in customer service industry and not even on our bad day we treat the customer this way. I was pissed off but shrugged the experience off thinking the service center people are not customer centric. (Still a fan).

But now the headphone jack is still showing the same symptoms. And I don't wish to go to service center. I am disappointed in Sony and would like to throw this phone away and swear off buying Sony again and would advise others to do the same. I know that complaining would not get my phone better nor I'll get any better service from Sony. But just thought everyone should know.

Regards,

Ashutosh Yawale
