Play store: wrong file size off apps reported during update

Hi there,

Just a small inconvinience, but anyone noticed that the size of an App is reported wrongly during an update via the Play store?

For example i just did an update of "NFL Mobile". Play store said it would have to download approx 50MB, but it stopped downloading and started installing already after approx 22MB?!

That is true, I am not sure what's the exact difference but there are also 2 loading bars (one in your notification bar and one in google play). And the one from google play is behind, it might be that only half of it is the update, the rest might be the app that is in the system. But indeed you made me curious now.

Hi Mortivore,

The link @alexdon supplied definitely does have the answer, it is how the update system works, only the code that has been changed gets updated, this is the best way to perform this task as it safes data.
