Issues when I finish a conversation

Hello, I tried to search the forum first, but I cannot find any posts related to my problem. Sometimes (most of the times) when I finish talking, the screen remains closed and I cannot close the conversation. I have to press numerous times the off button or to move the phone in the air until the screen lights so I am able to press the red button... There is any way to fix this? Thank you!

Does your phone has a protective:

case

film

glass

Is there anything blocking and/or partially blocking the proximity sensor such as but not limited to, grime, cracks, etc?
