Backup and Restore app password issue

Hey there!

A few weeks ago, Backup and Restore suddenly wouldn't accept the password I had been using for this app ever since I had the phone over a year ago and kept telling me it was the incorrect password.

I ended up clearing the cache and was then able to change the settings to not use a password for the app!

Everything seemed fine until today. And the app asked me for my password after I decided to reset my phone because it was running really hot for no good reason that I could see (separate issue haha).

I thought that's weird, I don't have a password anymore - checked the settings and this option was still turned off but it was still asking me for a password. It had an option that said 'I forgot my password' (which funnily enough wasn't available the first time it wouldn't accept my password a few weeks ago) so I selected that and entered in a new password. And all seemed to work okay.

But the phone was still crazy hot. So, I turned it off for a while and when I turned it back on again the backup and restore app popped up as usual. Asked me for my password and alas, it wouldn't accept my 'new' password again!

So i cleared the data and cache and got it running again. But I've just checked and it won't accept the password I entered and I can't even enter in the password to turn off this option either its like groundhog day lol.

Any ideas as to what the problem is?

The backup and restore app runs on a once a week schedule usually and the only exceptions to this is if I have to restart or turn off/turn on type thing but that's rare (unless I'm having phone issues).
