Why not in the UK?

Been bying Xperia phones for few years now, and a good portion of my friends buy them after me raving about how great they are.

And now it's time to upgrade and the UK is not allowed the flagship X Performance. So if I want a top end phone I have to go else where, is there reason you are not offering it in UK? Please don't make me buy a S7

They did the same thing for US consumers with the Z5 Premium. It was avaialble on Amazon but I wasn't going to buy a Phone without warranty. I don't know why they do this, I also don't think the X Performance is the Flagship since it only has 3gb of ram while phones like the S7 has 4.

To be fair, s7 probably needs 4 as the s6 was abysmal at memory performance.
Aside from raw power and speed, you'll find the Z5 pretty much is equal to the S7, especially in terms of actual usage.

It's not just UK, the flagship device will not be offered globally unfortunatly except for 3 countries: Japan, China and Hong Kong.

I have loved the Xperia Z range but the fact the X Performance is not going to be available and Sony completely ignore customers questions about it, I've decided to try something else. I'll refrain from saying what but it is not a Sony.

Yup unfortunatly, Sony's reasoning is that most of the countries don't support LTE Cat 9 Speed!! What kind of reasoning is that?!

If they wanna compete in the mobile market then they have to make their phones avaialable in more than three countries. I hear the X performance will come to the USA but I don't know if I wanna get it anymore.

And to think here's me using a Z1 still XD I simply just don't know which z series to jump to, z3 or Z5? As one is the supposedly hated msm8994/810 and the z3's being an 8974AC / 801-2.5ghz version, which would be the better option? I like the design of both and well, quick charge does appeal, but I'd like a stable processor but back to the point, looks like the X series either won't be here at all or we'll get some different version? Bit like the Z4/Z3+ thing?

Which region are you in?
In some regions they are releasing X & XA for those countries but not X performance.

So I just learned that around 5 countries in Europe will get the X Performance: France, Italy, Netherland, Sweden, and Spain. 😕

This is really annoying!

Pretty much kept up to date where I could and where there was a step up since the early Xperia. I wanted to upgrade to 800 series processor for its apparent high performance but more importantly its low power consumption. Using Z5 Premium at the moment and since latest updates to Marshmallow have been very disappointed with battery drain (new update yesterday might help but can't find info on what the actual update was). Just don't believe moving from this to the X standard is an upgrade (apart from better front facing camera, whoopty do) so will give it a miss, or upgrade else where.

And just realised no waterproof rating. This was another good reason to stick with Sony. Not any more, and as they step away from this others are moving in. Geez. Not that I went swimming with it but was nice to know it was safe!

Why no x perf in India? Thats sad Sony. Why dont you guys listen to the consumers? Are we mad who r still Sony fans when a bunch of bad anagement people r ruining it al? U guys r killing ur followers. Wake up Sony. Whats wrong with ur strategies? No flagships in India UK and Germany? Wow thats really shame.

I guess that given Sony's history of losses in the smartphone business, this time they decided to stick to a certain minimum price to operators and the operators in some countries have told Sony "no thanks".
