My headphones didn't work. Should I take phone to service?

My headphones didn't work so I downloaded the app called soundabout and now it works fine even when I deleted the app. So my question is why didn't it work in the first place, and also what does soundabout do? Should I take it to the service? The headphones you got from Sony worked but not my white samsung onse.

This is a complicated question as you have to give more information, but most likely its a compatibility issue.

Ok so I got a pair of samsung headphones so Iwanted to use them with my m4. When I tried it it didn't work but when I used the sony headphones you get from the box when you buy the phone they worked. So I tried the app calle soundabout and afterwards they worked, now my quesstion is, should I take them to the service? Because if it's somethin wrong with the 3.5mm thingy then I still have my warrenty so yeah.

if the Sony headphones work with your phone, and the samsung headphones work with other phones, then there's nothing wrong with your phone nor the headphones, its just a compatibility issue.
