Data on Sd counts towards internal data budget!

The phone (xperia z3 with lollipop) complained about low internal data. Checked the stats and majority of space was occupied by apps. Checked the apps and spotify used over 2G. Checked Spotify stats; about 80M for the app, 7M internal data, 2G data on SD. I reset the app data anyway and suddenly there was 2 more G of internal data available!

Can someone explain?

That's normal, Spotify, facebook, instagram, google play music, etc, will use up your storage, an example, play music will cache the music files on your device so you can play them faster, instagram will allow you to scroll down through the pictures/videos smoother (but only with older pictures/videos and/or played music files).

But why does android report the internal data usage as 1.13 MB if it in fact uses well over 2GB?
