Many people complained about camera freezing, Sony should fix this bug, not asking us to disable stamina mode or uninstall apps.

I don't have stamina mode and I am using only the popular apps that don't cause issues on other phones, and I still have camera freeze from time to time. So this is clearly a BUG, same as other issues like screen gamma/contrast, sound crackling and many others.

Sony should hire better testers and devs...

I have been facing the same exact thing with my phone. The camera freezes very frequently and the only option is to Lock & unlock the phone. I was under the assumption that the problem occurs only in Manual mode when the resolution was 21MPs, since it is to write a whole lot of data (5-6 mb) within a fraction of a sec, however to my surprise the problem occurs even in Superior Auto mode, where the max. resultion is 8MPs and the size of the file reduces to 1.5 - 2 Mb. And I also have a Class 10 micro SD to support the data write. This problem never happened before Kitkat. Infact the camera was running quite brilliantly even after the KitKat update, But off late the problem started and it is kind of a humiliation to proudly take your camera out for a group photo and then the freeze.... you are just left with...." Uhhhmm hhhmmm Hold On....... Hmmmm..... Uhmmmmm.. Hold On, Can we take another shot ? "

I dont have any third party apps installed and I am facing this issue from Day 1. Mine came with Kitkat straight out of the box. Disaappointing to note that instead of fixing the issue you are recommending us to do all sort of stuff. Pls take cognizance of the issue and fix this ASAP

My name is Matt, from the uk.. Since "upgrading" to the kitkat software I have had nothing but trouble...

First of all when I unlock my phone the background and icons take a few seconds to load and do so in stages.. The alarm goes off in the morning and sometimes even after I press snooze or dismiss it still keeps playing the alarm tone!

Second my phone gets so hot I could fry an egg on it and I'm not really doing anything to give it a work out!

Third and worst is the camera.. Freezes all the time.. Incredibly frustrating especially when your in a situation when you cant "do another shot" the only way to get out of the frozen camera is to either lock your phone or press the red reset button... For a new smartphone, that costs as much as it does I find this un acceptable!

Please fix these issues Sony or I'm buying an iPhone.. And while your at it.. Make it so that when your timer goes off it comes up on your screen for you to dismiss rather than having to unlock (a buggy) phone then dismissing the alarm.. Every other manufacturer does it.

I'm really frustrated..

Ps: I've tried running my phone in safe mode etc etc but the bottom line is I SHOULDNT HAVE TO

I rebooted the phone in safe mode, the problem was somehow solved (I say somehow because i just checked it for 1 minute). But in the normal mode the problem still exists. So how can I figure out what this third party app is? What should I do in order to remove or uninstaI the app and tackle the problem? Actually I don't have any other apps for taking pictures. You said first do this, OK now what?
