Backlit and Black Screen Problem

Hi,

Today recently I was using my phone on the street when I got some notifactions so I turned it on and then put it back to sleep as I realised I would check them in 5 or so minutes. So, I tried to turn it on to check the messages I got and it wouldn't turn on at all. And I thought, maybe it is flat but then I went to my friends and tried to charge it and it had the red light in the corner so it was working. Soon after, the backlit of the screen decided to work but again, the screen didnt show with anything of my password or menu or anything.

I searched the net multiple times and it appears to happen with the Arc as well. So I was wondering if I could get any help in this situation that I can fix or do I have to send it in. Thankyou

Phone : Sony Xperia S (LT26)
Softwar : 4.04 (Icecream Sandwich)

I have also tried doing hard resets (holding down the power button and the volume up button at the same time) and software updates. And none of them work.

If you have performed an update/repair and still got nothing out of the phone then unfortunately I would have to advise that you return the phone for assessment by an authorised repair agent.
