Problem with the physical camera button

My Xperia Sola has some problem with its physical camera button on the side of the phone. Normally this button should take you to the camera directly from anywhere. Pressing this button doesn't take you to the camera view . But, once you are in the camera, pressing this performs some kind of a focusing effect. This button does not even let you capture the snaps using it. Some times it is uncomfortable to reach the soft key on the display to capture the Image. So, a physical camera button is normally very useful. But it is useless with Sola. Is this common to all Sola units?

If the button does focus when you press it, please try pressing it harder and this should then perform the function you are looking for.

Thanks a lot Sam it works fine. I just didnt know that it is a two step press. Pressing it harder gets the job done. It must have designed that way to avoid accidental pressings since it works even without unlocking the screen. Apreciate the prompt reply. Thanks
