Sola ICS Update. Now no mobile Internet

I updated my Sola a couple of days ago only to find that it now won't connect to the mobile internet even though data etc is switched on.

I even re-inputted to APN details from my provider but to no avail.

The phone is also sluggish now when previously it was ok.

Please help.

No one? I know other people have had this problem because I've read it somewhere else too.

Also now, when I connect my phone to my PC it won't let me drag or drop files to and from my phone. I have to go through PC Companion and when I click on the file manger icon and prompt it literally does 'NOTHING'

I'm so hacked off. My phone was working fine until this update and now it plagued with problems.

What are my options? Someone, anyone...

Cheers mate, I tried that.

Unfortunately, not only has it wiped all the personal data and downloads from my phone, but the internet still isn't working.

Is there any way to revert it back and take off this syupid non-working ICS update?

What do I do? My nearest Sony Centre is 30 miles away.

How can I tell if it is or not?

I can make phone calls and send texts normally.

Normally when I have data enabled I get the two 'up and down' arrows in the top status bar to signify I have mobile internet.

It was all working fine until this ICS update.

Check the signal by going to

Settings > Phone > Status or something like that in ICS

...and can you see what alphabet besides the two arrows?

OK, can't see anything to do with ICS in there but this is varied info on whats there:

Network: O2 - UK

Signal Strength: -83dBm 17 asu

Mobile network type: GPRS: 1

Service State: In service

Roaming: Not roaming

Mobile network state: Disconnected

There no arrows at all though now in my staus bar. Nothing whatsoever.

I have 'Data Enabled' and 'Data Roaming' both checked too

LOL! You're on 2G! XD

Try switching to bandwith 3G by going to

Settings > Wireless or something > Mobile Network > Network type > WCDMA only (3G only)

This will force the device to serach only for O2 3G signal...

Then check back again until you see HSPA or others instead of GPRS...

If it loss the signal, then maybe there's no 3G coverage in your area (but I think UK is already fully 3G equipped, so maybe there's something happened to your device if the above fails)...

Right I tried that and still nothing.

I must state though, that before the ICS update everything worked fine.

And to prove the point I've just put my sim card into my old Xperia X10 MiniPro and I have a data signal and everything works.

So what has this ICS update done to my Sola?

I appreciate your help greatly Trubo but why isn't anyone from Sony posting anything on this matter?

OK, problem sorted.

And for anyone else with the same problem, the APN settings are different for ICS on some networks.
