&lt;P&gt;You could try resetting your TV but as it sounds like a hardware problem then I'm afraid&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;there's nothing you can do to fix this and the TV will most likely need a repair / exchange.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;See what John Lewis says, although contacting Sony Support would be a good idea too &lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://community.sony.it/html/@0248C33DDCF34AA61B8F8F33F5AFA5BE/images/smilies/013.png" alt=":wink:" title=":wink:" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>Sony AF9 vertical line</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Has anybody experienced a vertical black line on the oled screen? I have also noticed a block of vertical shadow. It’s only 8 months old. Black line and shadow appeared after panel refresh and android update. Tried restarting and on/off. Didn’t help.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;any troubleshooting steps to follow? I will ring John Lewis as well.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi there,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have a 12 month old AF9 and think the same issue here.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;On the right side of the panel there is a thick block which is darker, on the left there is a brighter block. Nothing solved this until now. Hope the best with the service.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;How long was the panel replacement?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I doubt display panel can be replaced.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sony service was good! it was carried out by an authorised service provider.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;Contract support if you haven’t already!&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
