Invoke google assistant using only voice and not button on remote

I have set up a ifttt recipe that when I say to my Google home mini or assistant on my phone "ok Google use voice" it sends a webhooks url to tasker plugin join on my sony tv that will open the Google assistant on the tv without having to press the button on the remote I can then tell the assistant to change the channel on my virgin box using the ir blaster or any other local command the tv recognizes I found my google home wouldn't execute change channel commands on the tv no matter how I said it. This works most of the time but occasionally assistant doesn't listen for a command and gets stuck with the assistant bar a the bottom not going away. Does anyone have any ideas how to improve this? Thanks
