wrong device name in About Info

Hi back in February I had a new main board fitted to my KD-49XE8004 Bravia TV due to to a fault on my TV. I have however started to get a few issues with the TV so decided to write to Sony again. So whilst getting together the required information I went into setting - About I noticed that the device name is now KD-43XE8005 which is not the model of the TV. I think this may be why im having a few issues. Anyone else experienced this ?

Hi @jsaxton

The only difference is MotionFlow (The KD-49XE8004 has a MotionFlow of 100HZ (Native 50HZ) and the KD-49XE8005 has MotionFlow of 200HZ (Native 50HZ). So if your problems are with MotionFlow you could be right. In theory the KD-49XE8005 should be better.

Thank you for your reply, motion flow isn't my issue so you have set my mind at rest. Strange though that after a main board replacement the model number should change.

Hi @jsaxton It is because they have put in a higher spec KD-49XE8005 motherboard. I have seen a few people with the same story (other models) after a motherboard replacement where the model changes.
