Won't work as an Alexa Multiroom speaker ...

It seems I am unable to use the Sony SRS-XB402M (with built in Alexa) as a multi-room speaker which was my intended purpose when I purchased it  ... Alexa works perfectly but it doesn't appear in the available speaker list when trying to set-up a speaker group in the Alexa app even though it appears and is recognised as an Alexa/Echo in the Echo & Alexa list & also in the All Devices list ??? ... any help would be much appreciated ...

Welcome to the community.
