HELP - SYSTEM RESTORE ISSE

The operating system on my Vaio stopped working. In trying to restore, I messed with the partitions I think.

I bought new System Recovery disks from Sony, but half way through the restore process, I get a message which says "failed to read the image file". The process then aborts.

I found a thread on this elsewhere but in ended without a solution.

Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The one that's broken is an FE28H. I saw that you were trying to solve the same problem on another thread. I must have tried the system recovery twenty times, but it always ends up with the same message.

Many thanks in hope!

Hi Golfmag2,

Have you tried re-setting the BIOS Defaults first?

It's a bad disk then, I would contact VAIO Link and explain the problem with the disk

God, believe it or not, the System Recovery disks eventually worked. System now rebuilt and functioning.

Thanks all for your help.
