memory card got corrupted upon formatting on sony a7sii-or when i tried to view on a mac- can't tell

Hello!

2 Memroy cards that were 128 gb (150gb/s Lexar pro 1000x)

got corrupted when i tried formatting them on my camera!

They are only showing up as being 7.61 gb on my computer, even in the device manager, with no partitions or anything

alternately i tried to view both cards on an older mac, and wasn't able to see anything on there. maybe the mac secretly installed a 7 gb partition or did something? or maybe it was upon formatting the cards on the camera?

so lost

Hello @spicygazpacho,

that sounds like you bought counterfeit cards which are actually just 8GB (7,8125Gb) in size. 

In this case upon purchasing the card was formatted in a way that it showed a fake capacity.

Upon first inserting it into a device and formatting it, you revealed its real capacity.
